The Metrolinx Smart Commute Workplace Portal allows Metrolinx administrators to upload resources that can be downloaded by various Smart Commute teams across Ontario. The design of the Portal is consistent with the Smart Commute site, but with a more modern feel. It uses plenty of white space to keep the focus on the resources and accents of the bright green brand colour for freshness. This theme ties in with the simple, environmentally-focused photography.

To improve user experience and add a bit of innovation to the simple website, a side bar has been implemented. The sticky side bar remains at the left side of the screen at all times, which keeps all of the most important links easily accessible. While the technology and layout of the portal satisfied the client's needs, the creative design details sparked excitement. Based on feedback, the users are having a similarly positive experience.

Although this website is live, it is an internal portal for the Metrolinx Smart Commute teams across Ontario so it cannot be viewed by the public. Smart Commute is a program of Metrolinx and the municipalities in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, helping employers and commuters explore and try out smart travel options such as walking, cycling, transit, carpooling and teleworking. This project was completed while working at 108 ideaspace, in collaboration with the technology, marketing, and strategy teams.
